Items

Honeycomb is a consumable item produced by bees . The beeswax that can be obtained by squeezing the honey out is necessary to produce candles for creating lanterns , a bright and waterproof lightsource, as well as sturdy leather used to create the largest bags . Beeswax can also be used as an alternative to fat for sealing crocks .

Obtaining

Honeycomb is primarily obtained from breaking wild beehives or skeps . Each skep will produce 3 honeycomb and return 0 - 14* reeds based on the material it was created from. The skep must say it is harvestable; If the skep is empty or populated, breaking the skep will not produce honeycomb. Honeycomb can also obtained by breaking Forage or Arctic supplies cracked vessels found in ruins or purchased from an Agriculture trader for 1 - 2* rusty gears each.

Tip:
Be careful with wild beehives; If you break the hive, you won't be able to populate a skep to bring home!

Usage

Honeycomb can be squeezed over a bowl , jug , bucket , or barrel to extract 0.2L of honey and obtain a piece of beeswax . Honeycomb may also be pressed in a fruitpress to extract honey in bulk. At least 25 honeycomb must be added before it can be pressed. A liquid container must be placed in the bottom of the press to collect the honey.

Honeycomb can be eaten to restore 300 fruit satiety . Beeswax cannot be obtained from eaten honeycomb. A single 0.2L portion of honey has 60 fruit satiety, or 80 in a meal. Honeycomb and honey never spoil.
