Creative mode
This page was last verified for Vintage Story version 1.18.7.
Creative mode is one of three game modes in Vintage Story. It is the closest to a "sandbox" or other free-form experience, with many of the mechanics present in Survival mode disabled.
Enabling
Creative mode can be turned on during world generation, or at any point by using the server command /gamemode creative
.
By default, the "Creative" option in world generation generates a world that is a flat, 2-block deep dirt plain with no height variation. If players want to play on Creative mode in a world with regular world generation rules, they must use the server command on a world created using different generation rules.
Effects
Creative mode disables the hunger, health and temporal stability mechanics. It replaces the regular player inventory with access to the Creative item spawner, which allows players to spawn any block or item available in Survival mode, as well as some blocks that are only available in Creative mode.
Players may also toggle flying and noclip modes in Creative Mode using the F3
key. This will cycle through no-flying with collision, flying with collision, and flying without collision.
