Nails and strips are a metal building component made via smithing. They are used to craft different items and have no use on their own.
Obtaining
Crafting
Nails and strips are made on an anvil. One ingot is used to make 4 nails and strips, or two ingots (or a metal plate) can be used to make 8 nails and strips.
Purchasing
Nails and strips can be purchased from the following traders for rusty gears:
- Commodities trader
- 2 stacks of 1.5 - 2.5* copper nails and strips for 1.5 - 2.5* rusty gears.
- Furniture trader
- 2 stacks of 1.5 - 2.5* copper nails and strips for 1 rusty gear.
- 2 stacks of 1.5 - 2.5* tin bronze, bismuth bronze, or black bronze nails and strips for 1.5 - 2.5* rusty gears.
- Nadiyan village blacksmith
- stack of 6 copper nails and strips for 4.5 - 7.5* rusty gears.

Nails and strips can be placed for display in cabinets and on the ground, forming piles of up to 12 pieces.
Notes
Cupronickel nails and strips exist in the game, but there is currently no way to obtain them as of 1.22.0.
