Homo Sapiens
Homo Sapiens mode is a game mode for Vintage Story. It was first introduced in version 1.18.0. Homo Sapiens mode is one of five preset game playstyles in Vintage Story, alongside Standard, Exploration, Wilderness Survival, and Creative mode. The aim of Homo Sapiens mode is to provide a very grounded wilderness survival experience without the more supernatural elements otherwise present in the game.
Enabling
Homo Sapiens mode must be chosen in world generation, and cannot be turned on for a world that has been already generated. This is because Homo Sapiens mode changes the world generation settings to omit certain structures and blocks.
Effects
Playing in Homo Sapiens mode removes the following features, entities and items from the game:
Map
The player's map is fully disabled. As a result, there is no minimap and no way to set waypoints.
Temporal effects
The entire temporal stability system, including rifts and storms, is disabled. Players cannot use temporal gears to reset their spawn points.
Death punishment
Upon death, the player will respawn in a random 5000 block radius about world spawn. Player lives are infinite.
