Game Playstiles
In Vintage Story there are several Game Playstyle Presets. These are unique presets made by the creators of VS which make up for different experiences of playing the game. Currently there are 5 game modes which are: Standard, Exploration, Wilderness Survival, Homo Sapiens, and Creative mode.
Standard
"The default survival experience of Vintage Story. Balanced exploration, building and survival."
This game mode is the standard experience of VS, it features both the challenging combat, as well as the exploration, gathering, discovering, building and surviving. The player has infinite lifes, starts in a temperate climate, with no mob protection, 9 days per month, 15 hp with temporal stability, realistic climate distribution and 256 world block hight. Exploration
"For players that do not enjoy combat and significant focus on survival. Greater focus on exploration and building, less focus on survival"
This game mode is meant to be a more relaxed experience of VS where the player has 20 hp, keep inventory on, creatures are passive, the monsters only spawn after 5 days, temporal stability is off, hunger rate is slower, and generally, progression is faster. This is the perfect game mode to figure out the game mechanics as a new player.
Wilderness Survival
"For players that enjoy challenging combat and survival mechanics. Greater focus on survival, less focus on exploration and building. Respawn randomly within 5000 blocks upon death."
This game mode features a hardcore approach to VS where the player is thrown into an even more unforgiving world with only 10 hp, 5000 block respawn radius, block instability, un-creatable liquid source blocks, slower growing time, faster hunger rate, more unforgiving settings of the temporal stability and many more you can check out in the Wilderness Survival page.

Homo Sapiens
"Removes all lore content and evidence of current or past civilizations. You are the first and only human on the planet. Stronger focus on realistic survival."
This game mode turns Vintage Story into the ultimate survival wilderness game, where none of the eldritch horrors, temporal stability or human history exists. That being said It's pretty identical to Wilderness Survival, exepect for the lack of lore. Features such as 10 hp, 5000 block respawn radius and many more that can be found in the Homo Sapiens page shape this into a unique playtrough.

Creative Building
"Flat and empty terrain with unlimited blocks, the ability to fly and world editing tools"
As the name suggests, Creative Building is exactly that, a canvas for you to paint on. You can also use this world to test out the worldedit tools.
Creative itself is a game mode which the player can select while making the world or enter with command.
