Exploration
Exploration Mode is a game mode for Vintage Story. It is one of five presets available during world generation, alongside Standard, Wilderness Survival, Homo Sapiens, and Creative.
“For players that do not enjoy combat or a significant focus on survival. Greater focus on exploration and building, less focus on survival.”
Effects
By default, many of the game settings in Exploration are modified to make for a more casual gaming experience. Any of these settings can be changed in the Customize tab of the world generation menu.
Temporal effects
Temporal storms and temporal stability are disabled. However, temporal rifts will still appear unless disabled. Standing in a temporal rift produces no effect, unlike other game modes.
Creature hostility
Creature hostility is set to passive, meaning that hostile creatures such as monsters and animals such as bears, wolves, and hyenas, will not attack the player unless the player attacks first.
Winter
True winters, which damage crops, reduce animals spawns, and reduce meat harvested from animals, are disabled by default.
Death punishment
Inventory contents are kept on death and the respawn radius is set to 50 blocks. Player lives are infinite.
Player effects
Multiple changes are made to the player's stats. Walking speed is set to Slightly Slower, hunger is set to 50%, and lung capacity is 2 minutes. Player health points are set to 20.
Other effects
Tool durability is set to 200%, meaning tools last longer.
Tree sapling growth time is set to Faster (0.5x speed).
Underground farming is enabled.
Monsters spawning is delayed by 5 days.
Fire from lightning is disabled.
