Calcined flint
Calcined flint is flint that has been subjected to high temperatures to remove organic impurities and induce certain physical reactions. It is used to make fire clay.
Creation
- See also: Flint
Calcined flint chunks are created by heating flint directly in a firepit to 1000°C or higher. Flint can alternatively be smelted in a bloomery, which requires 1 coal for every 4 flint (up to 6 coal and 24 flint at a time).
Calcined flint chunks can be ground in a quern to make powdered calcined flint.
Usage
Powdered calcined flint is used to create fireclay.
Storage
Calcined flint chunks and powdered calcined flint can be stored on the ground and in shelves, display cases, chests, trunks, and crates.
History
Calcined flint was introduced in Version 1.20, along with changes to how fire clay naturally generates.
