Off-hand

The off-hand slot is a special equipment slot in Vintage Story. Off-hand equipment confer a range of bonuses to the player.
Items equipped in the off-hand slot perform a variety of purposes. However, equipping any off-hand item increases the rate of hunger by 20%.

The off-hand slot is used by the following items:
Tongs, allows players to pick up high-temperature objects
Shields, provides increased damage resistance
Torches, provides light
Lanterns, provides light
